Michael Bennett in Trouble?

Again?

Here’s what we know:

• Today, March 23, 2018, a Harris County (Houston, Texas) grand jury indicted Michael Bennett.
• Bennett was attending Super Bowl LI on February 7, 2107, as a spectator.
• The game was played at NRG Stadium in Houston.
• Brother Martellus Bennett was a participant as a member of the New England Patriots.
• The indictment charges Michael Bennett with allegedly injuring a 66-year-old paraplegic female after the game.
• The grand jury issued a warrant for his arrest.
• If convicted, the charge carries a penalty of up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
• Houston authorities are asking Bennett “to turn himself in as soon as possible.”
• Houston authorities contacted the NFL.

The Eagles released the following statement:

“We are aware of the situation involving Michael Bennett and are in the process of gathering more information. Because this is an ongoing legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time.”

Here’s what we hear:

• Michael Bennett tried to pull a Kevin Hart at last year’s Super Bowl by pushing his way onto the field to take part in the post-game celebration.
• Security guards told Bennett he was not permitted to use that entrance.
• Security personnel believe that Bennett was under the influence of alcohol.
• Security personnel say that Bennett said “Fuck you” to the person denying him access.
• Security personnel say that Bennett said “You all must know who I am. I could own this motherfucker.”
• Security personnel say that Bennett then pushed a male security guard who was trying to deny him access, then pushed a female security guard who was trying to deny him access, and finally pushed a 66-year-old female security guard who was trying to deny him access. By the way, that 66-year-old female is a wheel-chair-bound paraplegic.
• Allegedly, Michael Bennett injured that senior citizen.

I wasn’t there. So I have no idea what happened. Still, I have one question at this point:

Why, Howie, why?
