1964 imageAfter completing a successful 11-and-6 home stand, the Phillies were traveling to Chicago to begin a three-game series with the Cubs. After Chicago, the Phillies would move on to New York to play five games against the Mets.


Around the League – The Giants beat the Reds 6-5 on two walks and a walk-off single by Jim Ray Hart off Ryne Duren. The win helped the Giants pick up ½ game and move into a first-place tie with the idle Phillies.
