Face of the Sixers

The face of the Sixers franchise punched a heckler outside a Boston bar in the early hours of Thanksgiving morning.

What was the cause of the ruckus?

The heckler had the temerity to shout:

“The Sixers suck.”

blame my father imageWell, let’s see:

  • The Sixers blew an 80-75 lead with just 1:36 remaining in Wednesday night’s game and lost 84-80 to the Celtics in Boston.
  • The loss made it 16 straight losses to begin the 2015 season.
  • The loss made it 26 straight losses over two seasons to equal the worst losing streak in NBA history.

Guess what?

The heckler was right on the money. The Sixers suck. In fact, they sucked last year. They sucked the year before. They suck this year. And they’re going to suck next year.

Trust the process?

You gotta be kidding me.

When the heckler shouted about the Sixers sucking, Jahlil Okafor shot back:

“We got money, you broke-ass nigga.”

Watch the TMZ video and see the altercation for yourself.

Apparently, the rookie rising-star was frustrated with the loss and went to a bar with at least one teammate to blow off some steam – or to do whatever 19-year-old millionaires do when they go out on the town after a tough loss. Apparently, he wasn’t concerned about breaking the law when he entered the trendy Storyville Night Club – even though he’s two years under the legal drinking age in Boston.

And apparently, the team has no systems in place to guide and protect the face of the Sixers franchise – even though he’s an immature teenager with fistfuls of yen.

Fortunately for the Sixers and Okafor, the futility of Chip Kelly and the Eagles – who were trounced 45-14 by the Lions on Thanksgiving Day – will over-shadow this story. Fortunately the Sixers and Okafor, the Sixers suck and not many people – pardon my French – give a shit about the Sixers.

Jahlil – take some advice from this older, wiser, broke-ass non-nigga. Next time, slip a Ben Franklin or two into the hand of the hotel concierge and tell him to send up some hookers.
