Trent Cole’s gone too as the Eagles continued to clean house – and Trent’s not thrilled.
Check out his tweet from an hour ago.
It came as no surprise to me – except for the timing. Between you and me, I’d already written my piece for tomorrow and predicted that both he and Shady McCoy would soon be moved.
I also mentioned the possibility of DeMeko Ryans being cut – wonder if that will come true as well?
In any case, I’ve got some re-writing to do for tomorrow.
Trent Cole played for the Eagles for ten seasons. He was a good player – who two years ago adapted after being shifted from defensive end to outside linebacker when new defensive coordinator Billy Davis replaced the 4-3 and installed the 3-4 in its place.
Cole’s cap number of $11.265-million for the 2015 season was way too much for the 32-year-old defender. Personally, I knew that Trent Cole was willing to re-structure his deal, but as it turned out the Eagles weren’t willing to renegotiate.
He’ll catch on somewhere and I wish him the best.
Now, what’s gonna happen tomorrow?
