Live Free or Let Die stars Bruce Willis – action, action, more action.
Live Free or Die Hard
Getting some good suggestions lately – got 2 yesterday.
Watched them both.
Don’t know how I missed 2007’s Live Free or Die Hard.
Loved the first 3 Die Hards – didn’t know there was a 4th.
IMDB describes Live Free or Die like so: “John McClane and a young hacker join forces to take down master cyber-terrorist Thomas Gabriel in Washington D.C.”
Bruce Willis has 132 credits – saw so many but only mentioning Die Hard (1988), Die Hard 2 (1990), and Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995).
I was attending the New York Film Academy in 1993. One Sunday morning I was dropping my girlfriend at Grand Central Station so she could catch a train to Baltimore – and by a lucky coincidence I walked right into the middle of the filming of the explosion scene.
They did real stunts in those days. So I watched them rehearse the timing several times before shooting it.
Don’t know the rest of the cast in Live Free or Die Hard.
Justin Long plays computer geek Matt Farrell – 98 credits – likeable young man.
Timothy Olyphant plays evil villain computer geek Thomas Gabriel – 64 credits – looked very unlikable – as the villain should.
Maggie Q plays the villain’s accomplice & love interest Mai Linh – 42 credits -sexy & sleek – born in Honolulu – mother Vietnamese – father Polish – it says she was the girl in the car in Rush Hour 2 – I do remember that scene.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays McClane’s daughter Lucy, who gets kidnapped – 57 credits – good-looking and sexy as well.
Wait – take it back – Cliff Curtis who plays the FBI honcho was a detective in 2007’s Fracture – with Anthony Hopkins – on my list favorite movies.
Nothing but actiony – both Bruce Willis and Justin Long take beatings, are shot, & endure falls down several floors that would kill most people – but like a Timex they kept on ticking – and a few bad CGI sequences that stretch the imagination past the breaking point.
I really liked it.
Here’s the trailer.
I’m America’s Best Crime Writer
and I approve this message.
Warner Books published Born to Be Wild in 1992 & it still sells every day at Amazon & Kindle. True story about certain members of the Warlocks motorcycle gang.
The story takes 21 years to play out – with many twists & turns – an amalgam of Sons of Anarchy & Breaking Bad – but these outlaw bikers make the Sons look like Cub Scouts.
