Got a text from my favorite grandson last night. Always a surprise when that happens. Means one of three things:
(1) He needs money.
(2) His team won.
(3) He played well.
So I followed the link he transmitted and learned that those ravenous Rosemont Ravens beat the Neumann Knights 13-5 and that he scored a goal and went 12-for-14 on face-offs. Good work to the team, and good work to the favorite grandson.
Based on the write-up on the men’s lacrosse site, it looks to me like Rosemont won in wire-to-wire fashion – with a slight scare in the third quarter – followed by a strong finish.
Justin Regan scored a double hat-trick with six goals – quite impressive – and picked up an assist. Steve Licata scored three goals, and Rasool Smith scored a pair while Anthony Bottoms and Zach Bowe scored one each.
Kiefer Paul made eight saves in goal to pick up the win.
With the win, Rosemont is now 2-1 in the CSAC.
Next game is on the road Saturday against Immaculata.
