The Fugitive Movie is another quest for Dr. Richard Kimble to find the one-armed man.
The Fugitive movie came out in 1993. IMDB describes it like so:
“Dr. Richard Kimble, unjustly accused of murdering his wife, must find the real killer while being the target of a nationwide manhunt led by a seasoned U.S. Marshal.”
Dr. Kimble and his wife – played by Sela Ward – attend a Christmas party. She’s murdered later that night after returning home – and her husband – played by Harrison Ford – is accused of killing her
He’s arrested, tried, and convicted – but escapes when the train transporting him to prison derails and crashes.
He then assumes many roles while trying to find the one-armed man he believes killed his wife during the commission of a robbery – played by Andreas Katsulas.
Wanted posters are printed and the U.S. Marshals Service have jurisdiction on pursuing the escaped federal fugitive – led by Agent Samuel Gerard – played by Tommy Lee Jones – the Marshals make his capture a priority.
The supporting cast includes Julianne Moore – who plays an E.R. doctor – she was Sly Stallone’s sidekick in Assassins – and the versatile Joe Pantoliano – Risky Business – Running Scared – and Midnight Run.
The Fugitive TV series and movie followed the same basic plotline – a doctor’s wife is murdered – he’s arrested – but escapes confinement – and keeps pursing a one-armed man he believes is the real killer – while being pursued by a lawmen named Gerard – Detective Philip on TV – and Agent Sam in the movie.
The source of the plot is coming up.
