The Fugitive TV series was popular – its final episode ranks right up there with M*A*S*H, Cheers, and Seinfeld.
The Fugitive TV series ran from 1963-1967. IMDB describes it like so:
“A doctor, wrongly convicted for a murder he didn’t commit, escapes custody and must stay ahead of the police to find the real killer.”
David Janssen stars as fugitive Richard Kimble – who’s trying to find the one-armed man he believes killed his wife during the commission of a robbery – played by Bill Raisch – and who’s constantly pursued by Detective Philip Gerard – played by Barry Morse.
The chase starts out in black and white – police sketches – wanted posters – reward posters – and newspaper headlines chase him all the way across the country.
With guest appearances by Bruce Dern – Jack Klugman from the Odd Couple and Quincy M.E. – James Hong who has an amazing 441 acting credits – my favorite the original In-Laws – Miss America 1955 Lee Merriweather – Kojak star Telly Savalas – and Suzanne Pleshette who played Bob Newhart’s wife.
And the chase finishes in color with guest appearances by Vincent Gardenia who played Archie Bunker’s neighbor Frank Lorenzo and also chased Charles Bronson in Death Wish – Jack Warden from Used Cars – and Ivan Dixon from Hogan’s Heroes
The Fugitive was extremely popular – its final episode ranks right up there with M*A*S*H – Cheers – and Seinfeld.
