The Walrus cashed $1,200 on FanDuel Saturday night – The Walrus being one Denton Ballough aka demarcopolo324. He finished first out of 1,387 players in his pool and transformed $10 into $1,200.
He texted me shortly after midnight:
2 min left. But I have Steph and Chandler
Plus a 20 point lead!!!!!!
1200$ here I come
There was a screenshot attached.
And five minutes later he was $1,200 richer.
Please Note: There’s not a player in that lineup that I – and most likely you – haven’t played this season. But not one player recorded a clunker on the night in question – plus DeMar DeRozan put together a monster game with 63.5 points. And in regard to the winning score – 347.80 – I’ve score higher and lost. And I’m willing to bet you have, too.
So you don’t have to – pardon my French – pull players out of your ass or rack up 400 points to win. You just have to pick the right players at the right time.
Good work, Walrus.
By the way, he’s The Walrus because I’m the Eggman – but that’s another story.
The Lure of FanDuel
Five of us play FanDuel regularly and we’ve all cashed varying amounts. In fact, I was in first place for about an hour on a $15,000 payoff a month or so back and it was thrilling while it lasted. Alas and alack, I came up short in the end. But The Walrus is the first one to cash four figures.
This obviously is the allure of FanDuel – risking small amounts of money to earn large windfalls. And – as you can see – it is possible.
And now The Walrus has set a standard that we’ll be trying to exceed.
