War on Ants Update 2

Defense to Offense

The defensive strategy in my war on ants seems to be swinging the momentum in my direction . . .

  • No ants in the kitchen sink over the last two days.
  • Huge drop-off in activity in front of the refrigerator.

. . . so it’s time to go on the offensive and counter-attack the ants.

Step One – Identified an area outside that gave the ants easy access to the interior of my home. It’s on the back deck – close to the door.

Step Two – Placed a plastic bowl – filled with my lethal mixture of three parts Domino sugar and one part 20 Mule Team borax – in close proximity to the entry-point.

Step Three – Observe – and make changes accordingly.

First Observation

It took around 12 hours before the bait drew some traffic. It then took the next overnight before the traffic became significant. So, today, I placed one beer-cap full of bait close to the plastic bowl.

I’ll sit back, wait and see what develops overnight.
