Where the Money Is
Paul Newman plays a convicted bank robber who pretends to suffer a stroke to get himself moved from prison to a retirement home.
Somehow ─ until last night ─ I never saw 2000’s Where the Money Is starring Paul Newman, Linda Fiorentino, and Dermott Mulroney. Most likely because it was a Showtime movie and I never had Showtime.
Linda Fiorentino plays a nurse who cares for the transferred inmate and soon figures out he’s pulling a hustle.
Dermott Mulroney plays her jealous husband.
The three of them then conspire to rob an armored car. The plot’s implausible but the movie and the actors were interesting enough to keep me awake all the way through.
I’m America’s Best Crime Writer – Barry Bowe – & I approve this message.
My first book – Born to Be Wild – was published in 1992 and is still selling on Amazon & Kindle. it’s a true story about certain members of the Warlocks motorcycle gang.
The story took 21 years to play out with many twists & turns. It’s an amalgam of Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad – but these outlaw bikers make the Sons look like Cub Scouts.
