Around the League:

The Giants lost to the Colt 45s once again – a 2-1 squeaker with Ken Johnson (8-8) topping Billy O’Dell (3-2).

That made it five straight losses for the Giants and allowed the Phillies to maintain their one-game lead in first place. Meanwhile, the Reds moved into third place –3½ games of the Phillies.
